![]() Maybe that's the reason why nVidia has never been keen on sharing R&D projects with anyone, which used to serve it well as long as their chipsets remained top performers and relatively bug free. Not taking anything away from the likes of MSI and Asus but these manufacturers deal with competing partners and sharing R&D info with them is running the risk of seeing it being funneled to one's competitors, plain basic caution. Both corporations (Intel and ATi) had converging interests: Intel wanted to be less dependent on brand-name computer vendors for mainboard sales and enter the high-performance market by expanding its graphic capabilities beyond basic onboard chips, and ATi was looking for a partner to distribute its chipsets on a larger scale without having to deal with a leaky Asian partner for development. ATi and Intel had been mutually involved in a chipset expansion project long before AMD entered the picture. Current Intel chipsets are heavily derived from the ATi original chipset. ![]() Murphy's law always kicks in.īut then again i knw nothing abt the intricate workings of motherboards, so plz correct me if im wrongĬlick to expand.According to industry news Intel doesn't want anything to do with SLI anymore because it would require re-engineering a chipset from the ground up. there hav also been a lot of satisfied ppl to contrast the unhappy ones. bad customer services obviously play a part in customer rage, but otherwise, im lovin every minute of my setup. Most of the probs ive seen on the ASUS forum abt the striker II formula with conflicts with other devices (RAM, PSU, etc) or jst bad QC (overheated NBs/SBs). but i only had the privilege of going to them once. im getting a new radiator for my watercooling loop since one 1*120 aluminum rad is NOT enough (and of course, its summer). once i hav time i'll remove the intricate cooling for the chipsets during summer once exams are over and swap out the thermal interface and make sure it touches the ships properly. Sure the NB and SB temps r a bit high, sure, i cant OC well. surely if there was a problem with the Intel/nVidia boards, specifically the 7 series, wouldnt there be a prob with ALL the 7 series boards since it should be something to do with the engineering of said boards? personally after my first RMA (which was cuz i killed my BIOS due to lack of thought on my part), there hasnt been any probs since. Jst wondering wat u said abt this fued going in w/ Intel n nVidia. SO FOR YOUR ONE GOOD DON'T BUY this crappy MOBO -> This Little Trick Works For Me!! And Now I Can ADD & REMOVE any Divice without a Problem!!!īUT for My own Good I Buy a New MOBO!!! I Don't Like to Working with one #$% MOBO!!! You can Change Time & Date From Windows!! So.After Clear Cmos and You Get The Sweet BEEP.DO NOT ENTER TO BIOS!!!! YES YOU HAVE HERE GOOD!! DON'T PREESS THE DEL or DO NOT SAVE ANYTHING AT BIOS, NOT EVEN TIME & DATE!! I Think this Bios have a problem This Saving Setting!!!!! (Note that i clear Bios Without take out any of my Video Card of My RAMS or HDD.Anything!!!!Ģx Gail 800mz 1GB (PC2-6400 5-5-5-15, volt 2.0v) If You Unplug the Power, Take Off the Batery, and Press CLmos and wait for 30-50 seconts You have Clear The Bios and You can Start Your Computer. ![]() ![]() But for one week that I had working with S.E. First of all I buy new MOBO and I Was OK. I am one of you, I had buy this crappy MOBO Striker Extreme and i've got this CPU INIT. I'm certainly not going to accept that this time. Last time they sent it back to me 'No Fault found'. So, (Jenova_link) I'd love to hear how you got on - is it resolved now? Did you ever have the unit working with the E8400 and if so with what bios version?īoard is going back to them tomorrow, so we'll see how quickly they resolve the problem. How could I forget all the forums read, all the shared pain of seeing all the other SE owners struggling to get some sort of stable config for any length of time.īloody typical that the very hour I decide to do the processor swap after 3 days of CPU-INIT and no POSTs the damn thing powers up fine for what was the last time before I lost patience and started down the RMA track for the 2nd time. How could I forget all the hours trying to debug the crappy board with one of the multitude of failure mechanisms.CPU INIT, MEM TEST, undervoltages, BSOD, hangs, crashes, etc etc etc How could I forget the fact that I'd already RMA's the board once last September before I moved from the UK to the US. I just bought a new processor (E8400) as I stupidly thought that the lack of successful POST (CPU INIT) was processor related and due to my previous unit (E6600) having been zapped by the 2.4GHz -> 3.2GHz overclock I'd done. ![]()
